Welcome to Chur
During the National Games, you will be housed in comfortable accommodation. Chur, the oldest city in Switzerland and capital of Graubünden, awaits you with its beautiful old town and unique mountain landscape. We will ensure that your stay is unforgettable.
Accommodation
Athletes will be accommodated in various facilities centrally located in and around Chur. This allows for optimal preparation and short distances to the competition venues.
Mixed Accommodation
Most athletes will be accommodated in comfortable schools, clubhouses, and hotels. These are equipped with modern facilities and offer enough space for small groups.
Separate Rooms
The needs and comfort of the athletes are paramount. Single rooms can be arranged for individual athletes with special care requirements.
Accessible Facilities
All accommodations are selected to be barrier-free and meet the needs of athletes with diverse abilities.
On-site Support
Supervisors and staff are available 24/7 in every accommodation to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and their needs are met.
Catering
Good nutrition is essential for optimal athletic performance! All athletes will be provided with three complete meals per day. Our catering is balanced, nutritious, and varied.
Breakfast
A balanced breakfast with muesli, bread, cheese, jam, and fresh fruit will give you energy for a successful day.
Lunch
Rich and balanced meals with meat, fish, or vegetarian options, vegetables, and carbohydrates according to athlete standards.
Dinner
A light and delicious evening meal with local and international specialties showcasing the diversity of Switzerland.
Transport Mobility
Arrival at the National Games
Travel to the National Games is your or your organization's responsibility. However, we offer support and information for planning:
- By train: Chur has excellent rail connections. The railway station is centrally located.
- By car: Chur is easily accessible via the A13. Parking is available.
- Group transport: Special bus services can be arranged for large groups.
Transport during the Games
During the Games, we provide free transport between accommodations and competition venues:
Shuttle Buses
Free shuttle buses run regularly between the accommodations and the various competition venues. Exact schedules will be communicated on-site.
Athlete Escort
Athletes who require support will be accompanied during every transport. Our helpers are trained and empathetic.
Timetable Mobility
Athletes who can travel independently will receive a public transport card for Chur and the surrounding area. This allows you to explore the city in your free time.
Leisure Activities Supporting Program
In addition to the competitions, there is much to discover and experience! The National Games offer a diverse supporting program with entertainment, cultural activities, and social events.
Opening Ceremony
A spectacular opening ceremony with music, dance, and light will welcome you and all other athletes to the National Games.
Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony is your chance to celebrate friendships and reflect on the best moments.
Cultural Events
Concerts, workshops, and cultural performances showcase the diversity of our society and Chur’s charm.
Social Activities
Games, dance evenings, and informal gatherings allow you to meet new friends and make connections.
Practical Information
Health Safety
Medical professionals are available on-site and in the accommodations. Insurance is required and must be arranged before arrival.
Weather Clothing
In March, Chur is cool (average 5-10°C). Please bring warm clothing. The mountain region can be changeable – rain jackets are recommended.
Luggage Personal Items
Each accommodation offers secure storage for luggage and personal items. Please bring only what is essential.
Communication
Regular updates and information will be distributed via email, info boards, and the website. There are also notice boards with announcements in every accommodation.
